Quilting my patterns

“Quilt as desired.” Oh, such dreaded words ever read on a pattern. While some people know right away how they want to quilt the top they just finished, the rest of us just look at it… and then pack it away in a box or send it off to be quilted edge to edge by someone with a long arm machine, it is given a ‘spa day’ with a price tag to match the spa.

I will happily show you how I quilted my quilts to give you some inspiration. For some I used my domestic machine and for others I used a mid-arm Tiara that was set on a Cutie frame.

Baby Tester

This was my first attempt to quilt with my domestic machine. It was basically two pieces of themed fabric with batting in the middle. I knew I was quilting the next one and I wanted to know how well my machine worked with the walking foot. I did simple, slightly wavy lines from side to side.

Sea Says: Dive on In!

This was the big one. I quilted it on my domestic with the walking foot. It turned out extremely well. It is a long post and has a LOT of photos of the blocks.
